Three coefficient systems run on the same squat, bench and deadlift total. Wilks uses the 2020 revision: score equals total times 600 divided by a fifth-degree polynomial in bodyweight in kilograms. DOTS uses total times 500 over a fourth-degree polynomial. IPF GL applies a different shape entirely — 100 divided by A minus B times e to the minus C times bodyweight, with A of 1199.72839, B of 1025.18162 and C of 0.00921 for men. Each has separate male and female coefficient sets.
Bodyweight and sex drive the coefficient, so those two fields change the score most. Bodyweight defaults to 83 kg against a 520 kg total, and the unit selector divides lb entries by 2.20462 before any formula runs — which is why the total is always reported back in kilograms. The compare toggle opens a second lifter with an independent bodyweight and sex, letting you settle whether a lighter lifter's smaller total actually beats a heavier one's.
These formulas exist to compare lifters near the middle of the bodyweight distribution and get progressively less trustworthy at the extremes, where the polynomials were fitted to thin data. Only one IPF GL variant is implemented — raw classic, full power — so equipped, bench-only and other events are not covered, and the tool's own notes describe it as an approximation. Sex is a binary dropdown because that is how the published coefficient tables are structured, not because it captures every competitor.
Both divide your total by a polynomial in bodyweight, but DOTS is a newer fit using a fourth-degree polynomial and a 500 multiplier, while Wilks 2020 uses fifth-degree terms and a 600 multiplier. They rank lifters slightly differently, especially at the very light and very heavy ends.

No. The IPF GL coefficients here are the raw classic, full-power set only. Equipped lifting and single-lift events use their own published coefficient tables, and applying the raw numbers to them would overstate the score.
The updated one. The coefficients are the Wilks 2020 revision, which the results table labels explicitly, and they produce different numbers from the original 1996 formula many older calculators still use. Compare scores only against others computed the same way.
